Homework Term 3 (1-5 weeks) and (5-10 weeks)
1/25-1/29/10 Students will create an analogous cell city (other structures accepted) booklet. Students have received the analogous worksheet and directions. Students will be working on this in school and for homework. The due date is Friday, January 29th ( class time on friday, too!)
2/1-2/5/10 Hwk is a worksheet on Chemicals in Cells. Guided reading to answer questions. Due on Friday. Study notes on Compounds in Cells ( Bohr's model and the first twelve Elements)
2/8-2/12/10 Hwk is a worksheet on Chemistry of Life, due Friday. test on Chemical Compounds in Cells on Thursday. Study Guide booklets will begin on Tuesday.
2/22-2/26/10 Welcome back. Hope all of you are well rested! Homework due Tuesday!!! will be vocabulary words: embryo, blastocyst, yolk, shell membrane, albumen, chalaza, germ spot, incubation, incubator, fertilized, gestation, airspace, twist, humidity, temperature, thermometer, eggs, rotation, hatch, development. Homework due Friday is a worksheet on cell review. We will be watching cellular reproduction only. In class, the Gallus gallus will be windowed for observation. The first item to be seen will be the heart and the vessel pumping with blood.
3/1-3/5/10 Hwk is a 4 page packet. This packet references items on embryology and chickens. Students are keeping a daily incubation chart on the chicken eggs that have been "windowed" in class. they are watching development for 21 days and will be completing a lab at the end. Packet due on Friday.
3/5/10 There is homework this Friday on the notes we took. The quiz on Monday is about Mitosis. Students need to student Mitosis - the division of body cells ( the division of the cell's nucleus into two new cells called daughter cells). The 5 phases of Mitosis = Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. Check out www.cellsalive.com for more details.
3/8-3/12/10 Hwk due friday is a worksheet on cell division. This week students will have quizzes on a daily basis and a test on Thursday, topic Mitosis. The phases of Mitosis and what happens in each phase. Students must study for this test, there will not be a study guide booklet for this test. Lab 53 Osmosis is due Tuesday 3/9.
